Volunteer at the 2017 IHSA State Football Championships!

IHSA State Football Championships are back in DeKalb at Northern Illinois University for this third of five years. The IHSA Destination DeKalb Host Committee expects to welcome 30,000 visitors to DeKalb November 24th & 25th and we need your help to make the 2017 IHSA State Football Championships the best one yet.

We are inviting you to volunteer for the 2017 IHSA State Football Championships. We have two ways you can volunteer Game Day Operations or Spirit Zone Tent. Volunteers will get either lunch or dinner (depending on the shift being worked) each day.  Volunteers must be 18 years or older and not enrolled in High School.

Game Day Operation volunteer jobs include Ticket Scanner, Usher and Parking Attendant. Go to ihsadestinationdekalb.com/volunteer/ to sign up to volunteer for game day operations.

Parking, Ticket Scanner, and Usher offer 3 shifts each.  Shift times for both Friday, November 24th and Saturday, November 25th:

  • SHIFT 1: 7:30AM – 1:00PM
  • SHIFT 2: 12:00PM – 5:30PM
  • SHIFT 3: 4:30PM – 10:30PM

The Spirit Zone has been moved back up to its 2013 location, just west of Huskie Stadium close to the parking lot that’s by the west side entrance. Some of the Spirit Zone tasks include greeting guests, answering questions about the community and event, serving complimentary refreshments and doing other tasks as needed.

To volunteer in the heated Spirit Zone Tent, email Stacey at office@dekalbcountycvb.com

For the Spirit Zone there are 6 slots per shift. Shift times for both Friday, November 24th and Saturday, November 25th:
